Support & Advice

Free, confidential, non-judgemental

Sometimes you need someone who will listen and who knows what they’re talking about: when coming out, if you have questions about relationships and sexuality, following an experience of violence or discrimination, regarding HIV and sexually transmitted infections, or simply when you’re not feeling well. In Vienna, there are organisations that specialise in supporting queer people and their loved ones. You don’t have to explain anything there that you’d have to explain elsewhere.

Most services are free of charge and many are also anonymous. Counselling can take place in person, over the phone or by email. An appointment is usually required for a face-to-face consultation. If you’d prefer to meet people first, community centres and support groups offer an easier way to get started. You can find the opening hours and contact details for each location here.

In a medical emergency, please dial 144.
